A breathtaking autumn inspired elopement in the Swiss Alps
Autumn is decisively in the air and being my favorite season, I thought it was very timely to share this breathtaking elopement and inspire all of you lovely couples having an autumn wedding!
When Nadia Jung contacted me to collaborate with her for this elopement editorial, I was immediately drawn to her vision, the location and the colour palette! Plus, working alongside my friend Meltem Salb is always a highlight! Teaming up with some wonderful and talented creatives, this story came to life, reflecting the sumptuous and alluring grandeur of a Indian Summer over the mountains.
Against the breathtaking background of the Swiss Alps and the Obersee Lake, an intimate atmosphere was created for Mia & Chris, along with the most amazing florals we have had the chance to create!
Blooms in shades of yellow, rust, red, blush and brown were used throughout, in order to mimic the changing colours that so define the season!
A larger than life installation, completely #nofloralfoam , was created using foraged fern, chestnut and other branches as well as orchids, lishianthus, roses, carnations, chrysanthemums, amaranthus, asters, dried leaves and grasses.
The ceremony floral backdrop was then moved and repurposed to create a 3d floral wall display to frame the tablescape. With its deep colours, the florals seamlessly flowed with the surrounding landscape, giving almost the impression of being a part of it!
And the cake? Olivia created the most scrumptious pumpkin spice cake (I was lucky enough to taste it and let me tell you, it was heavenly!) With a contemporary design that captured the flowing of the leaves in the autumn breeze, this cake was truly a masterpiece!
And because a celebration always rimes with champagne, what better way to end than a champagne pop and a slow quiet moment to admire the view and the wonderful adventure that has begun...
